Biography

 

Steve has over 35 years of consumer and commercial collections experience, including eleven years of medical collections, and third-party recovery (hospital liens), experience while Senior Assistant General Counsel for the Denver Health and Hospital Authority, Denver’s safety net hospital. 

 

Steve has extensive litigation experience and is licensed to practice law in all of Denver’s State Courts, as well as in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, the United States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.  Steve has pursued claims in the Civil, Probate (estates), Criminal (restitution), and U.S. Bankruptcy Courts, and in the Office of Administrative Courts (workers’ compensation). 

 

Steve’s collections litigation experience encompasses both pre-judgment litigation and post-judgment asset discovery and execution.  Steve also has experience in insurance subrogation, landlord-tenant, and personal injury litigation. 

 

While resolute when litigating, Steve interacts with opposing parties and attorneys with courtesy and civility. 

 

Steve, a Colorado native, graduated with both a Bachelor of Science, and Juris Doctor, from the University of Denver, and is a member of the American, Colorado, and Denver Bar Associations; and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association.   

 

Steve is a member of the Litigation Section of the Colorado Bar Association, and is a member of the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice group of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association.  Steve has presented before the Credit Technology Group of the National Association of Credit Managers, and before the National Business Institute.
